What conditions do Chiropractor’s treat
Doctors of Chiropractic treat patients of all ages, with a variety of health conditions. Chiropractors are well known for their expertise in caring for patients with back pain, neck pain and headaches with chiropractic adjustments. They also care for patients with a wide range of injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal system, involving the muscles, ligaments and joints. These painful conditions often involve or impact the nervous system, which can cause referred pain and dysfunction distant to the region of injury. The benefits of chiropractic care extend to general health issues, as well, since our body structure affects our overall function. Chiropractors also give advice on sleeping positions and exercise.
Does Chiropractic treatment require a referral from a MD?
No referral is required to be treated by a Chiropractor.
Do insurance plans cover Chiropractic?
Yes. Chiropractic care is included in most extended health insurance plans. Chiropractic care is also covered through ICBC, WCB, Veteran Affairs (DVA), RCMP, and MSP.
Are Chiropractic Adjustments safe?
Numerous studies validate the safety of chiropractic adjustments. One of the most thorough of these studies concluded, “Chiropractic care is greatly superior to medical treatment in terms of scientific validity, safety, cost effectiveness, and patient satisfaction.” (The Ontario Ministry of Health, 1993). If chiropractic were truly dangerous, wouldn’t it be expected that malpractice insurance companies, that are in business to make a profit, would be charging chiropractors large insurance premiums. Instead, the average chiropractor, with maximum liability coverage pays approximately $1,500 per year (less than most yearly auto insurance policies), while most medical doctors pay an average of $100,000-$200,000 per year.
Why Do I need an x-ray?
Chiropractic x-rays are a necessary part of evaluating and diagnosing your specific condition and your general health.
What is a subluxation?

It can also compromise the vital exchange of communication by irritating or causing compression on nerves which then blocks nerve signals from transmitting along the nerve root to specific organs and tissues. Chiropractic adjustments can fix the subluxation and therefore restore health.
Can I adjust myself?
We commonly hear from patients, “I crack my back all the time.” It is not difficult to make a joint “pop” or make noise, but this is not an adjustment! Worse yet, damage can occur to a weakened joint by mobilizing it improperly. Chiropractic adjustments are specific and take years to master
