Colic
Colic is defined as excessive, inconsolable
crying of the infant. The cause isn't known, in the past it was thought to
be related to the digestive system. However although painful abdominal gas
may contribute to colic. What is discussed today is a combination of the
baby's temperament and an immature nervous system.
Gonstead Chiropractic and Colic
In Gonstead Chiropractic, more and more parents are seeking Chiropractic
care for their children. Many spinal problems seen in adults begin as
early as birth. Even so called " natural " birthing methods can stress an
infants spine & developing nervous system. The resulting irritation to the
nervous system caused by spinal & cranial misalignments can be the cause
of many newborn health complaints. Colic, breathing problems, nursing
difficulty, sleep disturbances, allergic reaction and chronic infection
can often be traces to nerve system stress.
